HAVE YOU SEEN SAM?

UPDATE:

He is lost in Cobourg, ON and we believe he may be hurt, there have been recent sightings, but he is nervous of people, so we don't want him chased, just notify us of his location. We do have a couple of people based in Cobourg, ON who can come and get him if found.

Sam, the JRT is still missing, although he has been spotted in the area where he was seen before, so he appears to be staying around the same area. All of the Sam Spottings have either been in the morning, or in the evening, so we have been focusing our searches at those times. We are organizing another search for tomorrow from the same place tomorrow evening. Here is the info:

He has been spotted in the area 4 times over the last week, so we are fairly confident he is still in that area.  We have blanketed the area with flyers, and have him on Facebook, Kiji, Craig’s list, and of course the Rescue chat groups and the local radio station has been making announcements.  People have been out every day looking for him. I have put out a crate in the area with a bowl of food, and have put food throughout the area so he will stay there.  There is a creek running through there, so he has access to water.  If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know ASAP. Please contact me at dollack@rogers.com or at 647-408-4769. Thanks, Jocelyn.

SAM IS LOST AND WE NEED HELP TO FIND HIM!!

One of our foster dogs in Cobourg escaped from the foster home on Sunday evening (August 1), around 7:30.  He has been spotted, but so far, has not been caught.

He is not familiar with the area so has not returned to the foster home.  We are conducting a search for him, Wednesday, August 4, at 6:00.  We will meet at the Salvation Army Community Church in Cobourg (59 Ballantine St. Cobourg, ON K9A5G8), which was where he was last spotted.

His name is Sam, he is approximately 3 years old, tall, tan and white Jack Russell Terrier.  Sam is microchipped, but does not have a tag on.  He is quite timid, and probably won’t go near anyone he doesn’t know. So we are asking that if you do see him, you just notify us at 647-408-4769. If you are able to come  and help, please email me privately at dollack@rogers.com.

Good news to all of you who have been following the ‘tail’ of our little guy Grover!

Thanks to the generous support of Grover’s fans, he is now ready to be adopted out to his forever home. All donations have been used on multiple tests such as liver panels and ultra sounds. In the end, the little guy wasn’t a candidate for any surgical procedure and will be medically managed.

What does medical management mean? It means Grover will be on a special diet and liver support vitamins and herbs. Grover’s foster mom thinks medically managing Grover is very low cost and not at all time consuming. Grover acts like any six month old puppy. He is silly and is a very determined little fellow. Grover is as feisty as any JRT and will happily tip over the recycle bin or shred newspapers or get into whatever mischief he can find. Grover does sleep a little more than average. But it could be because he loves to be held and cuddled. And, seeing that cute little face looking up at you, he often gets away with sleeping in people’s arms and laps.

Anyone that has met Grover at the Sportsman show, the All About Pets show or Woofstock knows what a love-bug he is! If you can give our little Grover the special care he needs, you will be greatly rewarded with the sweetest pup you could ever wish for. There is one word for Grover – joyous. He is a truly happy animal. As much as his foster family loves this guy and will have broken hearts when he leaves, it is time for Grover to find his forever home. Please let Cathy Chambers know if you are interested in adopting him.

Please consider some of us more experienced jacks!
We have so much love to give!

For a reduced adoption fee, you not only get more lovin' than you can handle, but come already trained, housebroken, calmer, and with some little surprise tricks and talents! We love to cuddle, and aren't always as concerned with what's going on out that window ... we are  just happy to be in your warm loving home or on your welcoming lap! We've seen the other side of the fence and are just so very thrilled to be on this side! More mature dogs usually settle in faster and easier and won't overwhelm you with needing to be taught everything! Please don't pass us by just cause we aren't teeny puppies anymore ... like wine, we only get better with age!

Come to shop, come to play, come to learn about pet adoption and perhaps meet your next pet. Check out the web site.
